Expert recap and game analysis of the Minnesota Timberwolves vs Denver Nuggets NBA game from May 19 2024.

The Minnesota Timberwolves produced a historic 20-point comeback to eliminate the defending champion Denver Nuggets in Game 7 of their Western Conference semifinal series on Friday night.

The Timberwolves trailed by 17 points with less than 10 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, but they rallied to tie the game with just over two minutes remaining. Anthony Edwards hit a go-ahead three-pointer with 30 seconds left, and the Timberwolves held on for a 113-112 victory.

Edwards finished with a team-high 26 points, while Karl-Anthony Towns added 25 points and 15 rebounds. Nikola Jokic led the Nuggets with 40 points and 13 assists, but it wasn't enough to prevent Denver from becoming the first defending champion to be eliminated in the second round since the 2019 Golden State Warriors.

The Timberwolves will now face the Eastern Conference champion Miami Heat in the NBA Finals, which begin on June 1.
